Music diaries

   This is the first project for the blog and I hope you like it! As we all know, every day is different and as I see it each one is like a tune. The song is reflecting human's soul and I think that's the best way to express the feelings of the day!! Lots of factors influence me in the selection the song. It's the mood, the weather and others. All of them, though, play such an important role in this process.

    As for today, it cannot be an other than Summertime.

It   was at first  an aria composed by George Gershwin  for the opera Porgy and Bess (1935). DuBose Heyward, the author of the novel Porgy wrote the lyrics, although the song is also co-credited to Ira Gershwin.

   The song  became mostly known as a jazz masterpiece, described as "without doubt one of the finest songs the composer ever wrote....Gershwin's highly evocative writing brilliantly mixes elements of jazz and the song styles of African-Americans in the southeast United States from the early twentieth century.

This  lovely 'Summertime' is performed by Stephane Grappelli & Yehudi Menuhin!!!
